Longwood cottage is situated on a farm in the Hemel en Aarde valley.  This quaint cottage is located on the historic Langhuis farm. Langhuis is a working sheep and cattle pasture farm

The cottage has three bedrooms,a study, voorkamer/lounge and an open plan living area which opens onto a wide mountain facing stoep.
There is a Jet master fireplace in the lounge for those cold winter evenings.
The cottage has electricity and the hot water runs on gas.
The cottage is situated below the Babilonstoring Mountains, next to a long band of woodland and on the edge of a pristine indigenous fynbos area.

There are spectacular views of the Babilonstoring mountain range and rural farm scenes. Walking in these mountains does wonders for the soul. The surrounding Walker Bay and Overberg area have much to offer in the form of pristine beaches, whale watching, birding, photography, and hiking.

The cottage is situated on the Hemel en Aarde valley wine route. Next door is Ataraxia, Creation, Mount Babylon, Domaine Des Dieux, Crystallum Wines and Jakob’s Vineyard Wineries. They have developed a reputation for excellence with cooler noble cultivars such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.  The cool maritime climate and wonderful gravelly, clay rich soils provide a favourable “terroir” for the vines.

There is a profusion of flora and fauna(of the Cape Floral Kingdom), with exceptionally high bird populations. Raptors, migratory birds such as the European stork, Blue cranes, geese, ducks and a myriad of smaller species. The sweeping views, tranquility, silence, stars, pastures and the lush mountain will transport you to a stress-free state in minutes.
